Well it's time to start on all the wiring. This is going to take a bit of time I think.

Windshield all Cut

We I was finally able to get to my car. We are into September and this is the first time I've had any time to work on my chop.
This was the first time I've ever tried to cut a windshield and I have to say it went pretty good. This a new Beetle windshield and for those think it's a flat piece of glass, it's not 1964 was the last year of the true flat.. A 1967 has a bit of a curve to it which most people say that you can't cut a curved laminated piece of glass. I was able to how it was done from Pete Hagan Auto.
I was ready to buy at least a few windshields to get one to work but it worked on the first try so I was happy about that. I rigged up my own water and air to help with the cooling while cutting. I will upload a picture in the next couple days with the windshield in.

Engine is in

Well I finally got the engine in the car and it fits, well a little trimming was needed on the apron where the turbo sits. The apron even closes without any problems.
Now the wiring is the next step but with the weather starting to turn cold not sure how much more I'll get done this year. Plus with the move to our new house in a month time will be limited.

Engine Done

Well here it is all done. Well almost, I went to put it in the car and realized that I was missing the rear bell housing tin. As this is part of cooling tin needed for these engines I had to order one. So it will be next week now before it gets here.
I hope I have time before the weather turns to cold to get some of the wiring done to the Megasquirt.

Some updates

Slow but sure I've been getting to all the bits and pieces so that I can get the engine back in the car in the next week or so. Fuel pump and filters were put in place and I hooked some power up and all seems good to go. The engine is pretty close to being ready. I need to install the coil pack and wires, injectors and rails and some hoses for the boost and wastegate. I do need to weld in another bung in the top tube for my IAT that I forgot about. I think it will take more time trying to figure out how to program my Megasquirt to get the engine to run.

Transmission in and new parts

I got my transmission in and all my brakes back on and so far no leaks :-)
I always like when new stuff comes in. My Turbosmart wastegate and Blow off valve, EFI fuel pump and a Innovate wideband kit.
Had my bungs tig welded in as well as the holder for my blow off valve.
The top picture is just what the car looks like when it's nice and clean.

Back at it.

I see this is my first post for 2014, guess I've been a little lax at getting to this. I really need to try and stay on top of this better.
As you can see the car is pretty dusty but I've been getting work done to it, 1914 engine, Benco Pro-Street transmission, door and 1/4 glass installed, Garrett turbo, a drawer full of parts needed to finish pretty much the rest of the car.
Right now I'm changing the transmission and will update this post when it's done.
