Hinges in Place
I started with cutting out the holes in the pillar on both sides for the hinges to fit into. A couple of clamps to hold them in place so I could check everything on both sides and see how much I needed to trim off. I tack welded them in and then trimmed the door to see how the hinge part will fit. It looks like I'm going to have to trim the top arm as it seems to hit the window regulator. Next I'll do the other side, trim both hinges on the top arm and install the peices that go into the door.

Start of Suicide Doors
I got my Fathers day gift today, my hinges. So it was off to work and start on these. I've used these kind of hinges before about 10 years ago and kind of know what I'm doing. These are smaller then the last ones I installed so I hope it goes a little better then the last one. I cut out the door striker and replaced it with a section from my donor car. I was able to get the section from the B pillar and keep the shape of the pillar. Did both sides the same, cut, tack and then welded. Next and so important is to make sure the hinges are lined up right so the door works properly. Made some templates and marked the spots on the pillar where I will have to cut out the section for the hinge. That's as far as I got today, next will be to cut the holes and then cut some of the medal in behind to fit the hinge in. Then tack weld and move onto the door section.

Fuel Line
It was on to the fuel lines. As this car is going to be running Turbo I need to run two line, a feed and a return. Plus it needs to be at least 3/8 line which I'm going to be running. So I bent up my lines and then put some rubber tube around the line to keep it from banging around in the tunnel. I drilled out two holes in the front of the tunnel and then two more at the back by the trans. Maybe tomorrow I'll get to feeding the lines in the tunnel.

Front brakes and Tires on
Well finally got all my rotors back with studs in and it was off to the garage to put everything on to see how it looked. What should of been a hour job turned into a almost three. Everything up front was all ready to go all I had to do was put the bearings in the rotors and then put them on. Well it seems the QC for the Empi stuff isn't that good. Some grinding was needed to get everything to fit right. But as you can see it all came together pretty good. As with the back it looks like I may need some spacers in the front as well, I don't think my turning radius is as good as it should be. This is pretty much it for the pan, it's back to the body again. My suicide hinge kit should be here the start of next week :-)
